Romero Britto
Romero Britto was born in Recife, Brazil in 1963. Already at an early age he refined prints such as newspapers.
He then traveled to Paris in 1983, where he was introduced to the work of Matisse and Picasso. He combined influences of cubism with pop and radiated happiness, optimism and love. There are now many collaborations with brands such as Audi, Bentley, Disney, Technomarine, Evian and FIFA, for which he created the official poster for the 2010 World Cup.
Britto's works have been exhibited in galleries and museums in over 100 countries. He has also designed the public art installations for the O2 Dome (Berlin), Hyde Park (London), John F. Kennedy Airport (New York) and Cirque du Soleil, as well as Super Bowl XLI.
Britto sees the artist's role as an agent for positive change. He is known as a philanthropist and has donated his time, art and resources to over 250 charitable events.
